I deem it a matter of great pride and privilege and feel honoured that I am a part of the institution in name and style of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University. The university, situated in Kanpur, the Manchester of Northern India is a centre for teaching and learning since 1966. The university has emerged as one of the most distinguished Higher Education Institution, occupying an important place in the emergence of intellectual and cultural heritage of India.

At the very onset, I am prompted to use a Malcolm X quote:

I convey my best wishes and sincerely hope that the students will make the best use of the opportunities to become excellent professionals, entrepreneurs and great human beings. We expect that students respect their teachers and seniors and spread a sense of brotherhood among fellow students and juniors. We are proud of our talented, and energetic faculty, many of whom are pioneers in their respective fields nationally and internationally who are always there for help in case of any difficulty encountered anywhere. It is our endeavour that our educational system will not only cater to indepth knowledge in the chosen area of specialization, but will also provide a holistic set of skills to equip students to face the challenges of the world. We take pride in having contributed to the University's reputation known for its excellence in teaching, research, and its service to all concerned.

It is my personal request that students maintain the culture of the University, carry it forward with dignity, interact with seniors and juniors in the best possible manner, utilise each second “Time is money”, take care of all university resources, as they are meant for comfort. Inculcate a feeling that this campus is “Your home away from home”. I also encourage students to take part in all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to develop overall impressive personalities. It is my humble dream to see our students at the apex of success which will give me utter happiness.

The campus is sprinkled with architectural marvels aesthetically designed structure, laboratories equipped with the latest and most sophisticated gadgets to enable research in the twenty first century. The university caters to the students needs at par with global demands and is utilizing its special facilities to offer new and job oriented courses - a formidable away of prospects for the earnest seeker.

Our challenge is to help to generate ideas that will benefit society, and to educate and train people to work in fields where they will be valued both for their specialised knowledge, and for their ability to do research, communicate and solve problems.
