The Dept. was established in 2005 under self-financed scheme. The Department has got three branches – vocal music, Instrumental music in Sitar and Tabla. The Department lays emphasis on both aspects of teaching : Theoretical and Practical. The Students are trained in all the streams by the able teachers of each branch.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:-
Graduate Degree in music with 50%
Prabhakar / Visharad with graduate degree
For Faculty change 55% for general and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST Candidates.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission:-
Two students have qualified JRF and Seven UGC NET
Three Gold Medalist in three different streams Vocal, Sitar and Tabla (Chancellor’s gold, silver and bronze Medals) and Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal.
Many students got first prize in different streams in Music competitions at various level.
