The Department runs Program for M.A. English Language & Literature Two - Year Course under annual Scheme.

The Department is equipped with a Language Lab that helps the students grow employable on an interdisciplinary canvas of training in Speech Skills and Personality Development.

Comprehensive Knowledge of the sound system of the English Language and ability to use the spoken form for all purposes.

Fair knowledge of modern prose style and ability to use English for all purposes.

Development of taste of literature and ability to appreciate it.

Ability to do research in the field of specialization.

The study of English Language and literature is meant for the development of the mind and attitude of the students. Literature is not just subjects, it is a perspective. It is a way of life that makes the world a wider and more beautiful place to live in. However, the Programs offered by the Department open the gates for the student for the following job opportunities.

• Teaching jobs at various levels
• Translators’ jobs
• Opportunities for Research and Higher studies
• Clerical jobs etc.

For General and OBC Candidates aggregate 50% and for SC/ST Candidates aggregate 45% at graduation level.

For Faculty change 55% for general and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST Candidates

Many Students have qualified UGC NET / JRF

Many Students are rendering their Services in Administrative organizations, Primary, Secondary Higher Education and Corporate Sector.
