| The Institute of Biosciences & Biotechnology (IBSBT) was established in the year 2001 to provide higher education and facilitate research in the emerging biological areas such as Microbiology, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences and Biochemistry. IBSBT extended its interest in applied biology by the establishment of the Departments of Nutrition Sciences and Food Technology in the year 2007. Over the years, the various departments in IBSBT have received funding from State and Central Funding agencies such as UGC, CSIR, DST, DBT, DAE, DST(UP) and RUSA grant for carrying out research as well as development of teaching and laboratory infrastructure. |

IBSBT offers Masters in Science (MSc) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sc, Food Technology, Microbiology and Nutrition Sciences and Bachelors of Science (BSc) in Biotechnology. |

| The Departments are well equipped with smart classrooms and laboratories with basic and advanced instrumentation to carry out student practicals as well as research projects. IBSBT consists of an Auditorium with smart class facility and houses classrooms and laboratories representing six Departments: Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, Food Technology, Nutrition Sciences, Microbiology and Nutrition Sciences. IBSBT also has a Cancer Research Laboratory consisting of a central facility for analytical instrumentation. |

The Institute benefits immensely from the presence of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur; Institute of Pulses Research; National Sugar Institute; Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural Univeristy; Homi Bhabha Technical University within 5 km radius. |
